CALIFORNIA GOLD QUARTZSPECIMENSIERRA NEVADA MTNS,CALIFORNIA Photos are enlarged representations of the quartz & gold. Ruler, if shown,is1/4\"wide (actual size).Here\'s a pretty, little chunk from the Mother Lode. A good-sized exposure of gold can be seen exploding from one edge of the rock. The ruddy coloration is a result of iron oxidation staining quartz rock. I guarantee the authenticity of this specimen. It measures 10.4 mm long, 5.3 mm wide, and 3.8 mm thick. GOLD MINING IN NEW YORK CITYThe interviewer asks, \"then it\'s like placer mining\"to which the sidewalk cleaner says \"precisely\".
Well, if he said it and it\'s on TV, then it must be so.
Having done a fair piece of placer-mining myself, I\'m afraid I would have to differ with their comparison. He\'s scooping goop from sidewalk cracks
in the middle of NYC and then panning it for a concentrate.
At least that part\'s \'like placer mining\'.
He could make a case, I suppose,
for when water, gravity, and enormous
pedestrian traffic causes fine gold \'weathering\' from
it\'s lode (aka local jewelry stores) to work it\'s way into
those shale (in this case, limestone) concrete crevices,
you then have a placer deposit. I\'m afraid
that\'s where any resemblance to placer mining vanish.
Anyway, I get the picture and he seems to be good at his trade. There\'s no jealousy or animosity. I\'m just happy he\'s found his niche and can earn a livlihood at it. Personally, I\'ll take mining in the great outdoors any old time.

Thanks forchecking outmy store. I hope you find rich ground ahead. Gold ofEldorado3-12-13
