These dolls were designed by Suzanne Gibson by Reeves International, the company commissioned by the Smithsonian Institute to create this series of First Lady dolls
The gown is a replica of the 1953 gown Mamie Eisenhower wore to the inaugural ball and designed by Nettie Rosenstein
Original gown was made of pink de soie and was adorned with over 2,000 rhinestones; it was paired with matching gloves and jewelry by Trifari
