This is an outstanding find of a beautiful old tambor wood mantel clock that was created in the \"USA\" about 90 years ago and probably by Sessions though it\'s not marked as such. This doesn\'t really surprise me since American clock makers usually marked their clocks (after 1925 or 1930) with a label on the back door but there isn\'t one on this clock. It looks like a Sessions clock and does have their movement inside the case. The case is made entirely of wood, has a deep mahogany finish, and wooden supports in each corner underneath. The clock has a stunning tapered look, very art deco, with carved trim at each end in front; very nice! There is a hinged brass metal bezel surrounding the metal dial in front and it has a convex glass crystal inset into it; no cracks or chips that I can see. The bezel is quite secure yet opens easily to allow access to the two winding arbors, the fast/slow adjustment, and for setting the current time. The dial itself is silvertone metal and features, large, fancy black numerals to mark the hours and matching black metal hands to point out the time. The phrase, \"Made in USA\" appears in small block letters at the bottom of the dial. The back of the clock is a hinged wooden door with a metal latch. It too is quite secure yet opens easily to allow access to the key wind, mechanical movement inside the case; great place to store the winding key too! The clock winds via the two arbors on the dial and lasts for eight days or longer on a single wind. It has worked for a day or two straight but mostly for an hour or so and then stops. Probably needs to be serviced or adjusted. I just don\'t have the time any longer to work on clocks like I used to. It does keep good time when it\'s working and at the half hour, it will strike a single deep gong on a coiled cathedral chime inside the case. At the top of the hour, the clock correctly strikes the current number of hours on the same chime, just like offer Ben in London! atement. This is a heavy, well made, mantle clock and shows about average wear with some tiny paint speckles on the finish; should clean up but I\'ll leave that to you. It is an impressive clock, great patina, and gorgeous on display! The clock measures about 9 1/2\" or so high, about 5 1/2\" at its deepest point, and about 21\" or so long. The pendulum and winding key are included. This clock is a true conversation piece. They don\'t make them like this any longer and for this reason alone, guests in your home, office, or wherever you care to show it off will be absolutely captivated. Have it repaired, repair it yourself, or leave it the way it is. Regardless, offer with confidence; I have no doubt that you will absolutely love this clock!
