This is an example of a rare and seldom encountered European Close Armet Helmet which dates from the 16th Century. It is constructed of hammered metal and consists of 4 interlocking sections. There shows to be old restorations to the chin as well as the front base collar otherwise it has survived in wonderful condition. Standing about 14 inches tall. This sale comes with very good provenance papers that date back to an sale of 1881. (please note other items shown as props are not included in this sale)
