This is a lovely example of a French High Ranking Officer Epee Sword that dates from the French Napoleonic Second Empire. It is mounted with a triangular blade that measures 29 7/8 inches in length. The blade is stained with light surface oxidation, nevertheless, the etchings can still be made out on every side. The wonderful brass guard is enhanced with fabulously detailed high-relief motifs which include the French Second Empire Eagle on the face and remains in very nice tight condition.
