One vintage USGI small arms sling in excellent condition.

Unmarked sling is about 51\" long. Each end of the sling, protected against fraying by a metal D-tip,is securedin usewith a sliding buckle 1.25\" long by 0.75\" wide. As pictured, both sliding bucklesare included with your sling.

For the M1 carbine, this sling, a \"Type 5\" sling in the popular Riesch classification, represents one of the last improvements made to the design of the carbine by the US government duringthe carbine\'s 30-odd yearservice life. These slings weren\'t succeptible to rot in the jungles of Southeast Asia as were those made from cotton webbing.

This sling was also issued for the M3 submachine gun so it will fit your\'s too if you\'re lucky enough to have one. Regardless, it also makes a nice general purpose utility strap.

Being in unissued condition,its over 40 year oldnylon material is fairly \"stiff\". Repeated wash-dry cycles in the normal laundry (no bleach) has softened mine up nicely.
