An unusual solid sterling silver novelty whisky tot cup / measure. It is hallmarked with English marks including the lion passant mark but they are faint - it tests as sterling silver. I would date it to c1930. It has an unusual novelty designed being inthe form of an oversized thimble signifying \'I\'ll only have a thimble full\'. It is in superb condition being free from splits holes distortions and repairs. The inside is perfectly clean and usable.It measures 2 inches (5.2cms) tall by over 1.5 inches (4cms) acrossthe rim and weighs 31 grams. A superbly designed unusual piece.
