As a kid growing up in NYC frequenting the subway as a means of travel, I was often fascinated with the stations Teal Blue Green colored candy/gum machines, whichmostlydispensed stale candy, if you were lucky. Thatsincesometimes the only thing the machines did were totake my money.For years I wanted one of those subway stations oldcandymachines but was doubtful that I would ever find where toattain one. Well one day about 20 years ago I discovered this machine in a NYC antique store. Without my asking, the salesman stated that itwas an old, actualsubway station candy machine.Well, I bought it. Now needing the space at home, I sadly made the decision to part with this relic.Though Iwas convinced enough tobuy this machineand never regret it, I do not have any documentation ofmy machine being from the subway, so I cannot guarantee that.Please research if deemed necessary and determine for yourself. This is a very nice machine, especially personal andexpressiveif you areloading up the display compartment with the candy, gum,and/or Pez which remind you ofyesteryear. The dimensions are approximately 72\"H x 29\"W x 14\"D.

This 1940\'s-1950\'s vending machine has its original blue green paintwith well worn out areas which include tarnish and somerust..., Its parts most exceptional highlightsinclude;unbroken glass mirror, unbroken glass 8 candyselection window, 8in tactorange Bakelite candy selection pull knobs and more.The lock on the left side of the machine has been drilled out and removedso that the machine may be opened without a key or tools. Similarly the key cylinder on the storage compartments removabledecorative panel door located on the lower front portion of the machine had been drilled, so itjust uses a screwdriver or almost any flat key to open it.I have never reset andfilled the machine with candy, so I cannot confirm itscompleteness or proper operation. If desired the machine may be separated from the storage compartment base for ease of transporting. Please view the photos carefully before purchasing.
