Greetings! Up for offer is an authentic section of a New York City Subway rollsign! This sign was part of a roll that was installed on the sides of the train as the indicator of its route. This section has interior and exterior space holders for the letters that are not currently used as Routes in the system, including P, T, U, X, and Y. Also included on this section is a generic Shuttle designation for use as needed. This is one end of the route roll, and the roll contract information is included at the end of the roll.Subway routes in NYC are identified by letter or number and by color. The color would indicate which trunk line the route operated in the central business districts of Manhattan. The colors on these letters are white, as there has been no route designation for these letters as of yet. There are plans to make the T teal for the 2nd Avenue subway, if it ever makes it to lower Manhattan.The piece measures about 105\" long by 25\" wide and is made of Mylar, a durable plastic film material. This sign was used on the R30, R32 and R38 car classes in New York. This is perfect to frame and decorate a living/train/rec room.
