‘NAKAI’ Vintage Sugiliteand Sterling Silver Pendant with matching earrings.

Designed in the late1970s to early 1980s by Grace Nakai, the sterling silver setting was treated by GiloNakai, with Brenda Barbonne as the silversmith and stone setter. A creation bythree masters of the Navajo Native American jewellery culture.

This breathtaking pendant is 4 ¼ inches long,including the silver floral engraved bale. The pendant alone is 3 ¼ inches by 1¼ inch. It contains two highest grade Sugilite cabochons, 1 inch by ¾ inch, horizontallyset in pure silver bezels on a .925 base setting, with a 1 ¼ inch by 1 inchhigh grade teardrop Sugilite stone set in a like pure silver bezel on the same.925 silver base setting. All three stones are surrounded in .925 repoussesilver thick foil bordering resembling silver raindrops appearing to besplashing upon the ground.

The bale is large enough to be worn with matchingor coordinating beads or a thick silver chain. \'For Display Purposes Only\' I havematched the pendant with various coloured strands of cultured and Baroque pearls as Icurrently don’t have any Navajo pearls in my inventory. This piece of wearableart weighs 39 grams. The Hallmark is ‘BB-Nakai-Sterling’. The pendant has beenpolished and buffed to retain its original lustre.

The matching earrings for pierced ears weigh atotal of 16.18 grams and the stones measure 7/8 inch by 5/8 inch. They are setin pure silver bezels on a .925 silver base and, like the pendant, aresurrounded by silver raindrops appearing to be splashing upon the ground.Navajo artist Brenda Barbonne designed and crafted this beautiful pair.
