Fine Meiji Japanese wired Cloisonne bird and floral kogo box.

Provenance: Japan.

Age: Meiji Period (C.1868 - 1912)

Size: The vase measures 3cm in height X 10cm in width x 7cm in diameter.

Artist/signature: Unsigned, however certainly the work of a high-grade artist.

Condition: The piece has some fine hairlines over the lid and base. There is a small chip to the enamel on the lid. Please see photos. No further issues.

Comments: An extremely fine and rare Meiji Period Japanese Cloisonne enamel box. The box of crescent moon form is decorated with a bird in amongst flowers on a solid black ground. The borders are filled with floral chain designs. The work is applied within wires filled with bright and vibrant enamels.
