National Geographic ATLAS Folio

National Geographic offered the folio in empty form, and then provided the maps in their magazines. The plate numbers were provided on the maps for their location in the folio.

Condition: MUST READ BELOW

This folio was purchased from an Estate. It is partially put together; 19 plates attached and 24 to be added = total of 43, leaving room for collecting 19 more. The maps are in good/okay shape except for a few where the edges look ragged. ALSO: the plates that are attached are not attached correctly-the owner attached on either end as opposed to at the center fold (maybe they can be removed and placed correctly in another folio). The Folio itself is rather worn and has brown spotting throughout the inner cover plates and pages, as do the plates. The cover boards are bowed, and show water stains.

However, there is great educational & historical value in the collection of maps therein contained. That said, this collection should be used to complete another, or to start a folio in better shape than this one.

These maps are old and should be viewed as such, the condition is less than collectible, but the value in education and history is priceless.
