Native American bear figure bolo / bola tie:

Features the overall design of a bear with a geometric pattern below
Done in Sterling silver using the Native American overlay technique (see description below.)
Unsigned and unmarked as are many older pieces
Tests as .925 sterling silver
Slide measures about 2 1/4\" (6cm) tall at the tallest point by 1 7/8\" (4.7cm) wide across the widest point
Black braided leather cord is tightly woven, 5mm thick, and 44\" (112cm) long from tip to tip
Includes large, vintage sterling silver large bead tips that are each 2 3/8\" (6cm) long
Weighs 51 grams including the slide, cord, and tips
Uses a Bennett type clasp on the back to hold the cord
Nicely polished with excellent patina

Please look at the photos to see the quality of the design and workmanship.This piece is done using the traditional Hopi technique called overlay. This does NOT mean it is silver-plated. In fact, it is made of two layers of .925 Sterling silver. The artist cuts the design by hand in the top layer using a coping saw. The two layers are then fused together.
