Item Description

A gorgeous Iroquois rendition of Eagle Guardian and Blower False Face... Of all the pieces I\'ve seen, this one is the most finely carved. The eagle is beautifully done, capturing the fierceness of the bird in eye, beak and structure (I\'m a wildlife ecologist with experience with eagles). The False Face is exquisite and the subject, Blower, so beautifully entwined with the eagle in the representation of the wind that connects them both. The stone is lovely as well with tones of peach and blue grey and scattered darker flecks in the light stone. Signed Brandon Longboat, this piece is a marvelous example of Iroquois Six Nations work. There are a few scratches, but no chips or cracks anywhere. This piece is just shy of 6 inches high, 2 1/2 inches long and 1 1/2 inches wide. It weighs almost 12 ounces on a postal scale.
