Turquoise and sterling silver combine in this beautiful, traditional maiden pendant by Navajo silversmith Bennie Ration. The majority of the piece comprises sterling silver, while a single turquoisestone containing portions of brown matrix set in a simple sterling silver bezel is featured on one side of the body of the piece. The remainder of the body features sterling silver created in the shadowbox style, with sterling steps and wave/weather patterns cut out beside the turquoise stone. The base of the body is surrounded by a thin sterling silver rope pattern, followed by a narrow sterling band stamped and cut out with various designs to form a pattern, as well as appliqued with two rows of sterling dots. Protruding from the top of the body is a sterling silver maiden\'s head, complete with deeply grooved rectangular eyes and horizontal and diagonal lines stamped just below. The head is surrounded on three sides by a sterling silver tableta, cut out along the edges with step patterns and stamped within with step designs as well. The forehead of the piece is appliqued with four detailed, delicate sterling silver feathers, and the bottom of the tableta features two appliqued sterling earrings. 2 1/4\" long x 1 1/4\" wide. Hook bail is located at the top of the back of the piece.
