Here is very old and beautiful Navajo Rug, made from Hand Spun and Carded Sheep Wools, and hand spun, hand carded and hand dyed wools. The pattern incorporates a Ganado Area design with a serrated Saint Andrew\'s Cross. All the wools grey, black and white are naturally carded Churro Sheep Wools, while the red is hand dyed with an Aniline Dye (obtained from the Trading Posts of the time)! This rug dates to about 1935 and is in good condition for age.
This is a smaller rug, the size being approximately20\" X 19\", with a CottonWarp of 6, and a Wool Weft of about 28-32, an expertly and beautifully constructed piece!CONDITION: Please see pics. NO Fading, NO Bleeding, NO brittle/rotten wool, NO Bug / Larve damage, No Holes. The top end red selvage cord is 100% intact/present. The Side Selvage Warps are intact with no breaks. The bottom Selvage / warp ties offs had some minor fraying as you can see from the pics. The corners are in good condition with wear to a bottom corner and bottom corner ties.
BOTH SIDES photographed in entirety! This rug will look great as a wall hanger and will brighten up any home!
