German Toy Maker Ernst Paul Lehmann was famed for his painstaking designs and life-like actions. His tin toys combine reality and fantasy in an enchanting way seldom seen. The \"New Century Cycle\" (No. 345) is a good example. It is designed as an example of the \"Berlin pedal-engine cab\" of 1895. The gentleman rides along lifting his hat while the figure riding behind turns the umbrella. This toy is highly valued by all serious collectors of tin-plate lithographed toys. This one is showing it\'s age. It has signs of wear, age and handling. I am offering it as a good value for the money. It needs repair. It is missing the drive gear and the cam axle that makes the gentleman\'s arm and hat go up and down. Randy\'s Toy Shop gave me an approximate quote to repair of $150 for these 2 items. The umbrella turns when the back wheels turn. The front wheel has three steerable positions. I am reducing my toy collection to make room for new additions.
