Two very decorative nicely framed ca 1704 Classical engravings from the print shopof Domenico de’ Rossi.

He published acollection of engravings of ancient and modern Roman, Raccolta di statueantiche e moderne (Rome, 1704),

Statue of Cicero in the Capitol engraved by Fran Aquila,and statue of Abundance in the Palace of the Duke of Altemps engraved by Gio. attistade Poilly..

Black painted wood frame 15” x19 gilt accents. Engraving is matted under glass. Beveled matt opening is 9.75” x 15”. There is a framer’s tag on back. Frames andprints appear to be in good condition.Engravings not examined outside the frame.

Domenico de\'Rossi (1659–1730)was an Italian sculptor and engraver.

In 1709Domenico inherited the printshop of Giovanni Giacomo de\' Rossi, by the churchof Santo Maria della, the largest and most long-lived publisher of the Romanbaroque. Several generations of the de\' Rossi participated in the familypublishing firm established in the 17th century, which continued to produceengravings for the use of designers.
