- New Mutants 98 / First Appearance of Deadpool- New Mutants 87 /First Appearance of CableEach are graded 9.6 with white pages.Each are in a new style case from CGC.Most importantly they are the rare to find newsstand versions. They also happen to look great together because they both have the same grade and the same case type.
Newsstand versions are very rare in high grades. During 1991 and 1992 (when these comics were published) it is now understood that only about 15% of all Marvel comics were distributed to Newsstands. Most of these newsstand comics were not treated well, they would be placed in the wire racks or thrown on a shelf.Because of this, it is very hard to find 9.6 and above graded newsstand versions from this era.
If you look on for 9.6 versions of these comics, you will see that the vast majority of those available are \"direct versions\" which have an image instead of the barcode found on newsstand versions. The grading companies and the major comic book stores are beginning to distinguish these newsstand versions because they are selling for different prices (higher) as more people find out about their rarity.
With Deadpool 2 movie coming, and then after that the X Force movie (which will have Deadpool and Cable) these are truly the books to have in newsstand.
