This Bog Oak hand made Poker is 6 inches long and 2 1/2 inches high.

The Tobacco chamber is 13/16 of an inch in diameter and 2 1/8 inches deep.

Morta is a tree that has been buried in a peat bog and preserved from decay by the acidic bog conditions. The wood is usually stained brown by tannis dissolved in the acidic water. Bogwoodare logs that have been in the peat bog for hundreds and eventhousands of years. Bog wood is the early stages in the fossilization of wood and millions of years later becoming coal.

I have only made 2 Bog Oak pipes and they both have been pokers. I have another piece to carve but haven\'t decided what shape to make out of it. Bog Oak is rare and expensive.

The shank spacer is Palm wood with a black Lucite shank extension and a wine/bronze swirl stem.
