Presented for thecollector of vintage fraternity or sorority pins is this nice specimen of the Sigma Phi Sigma fraternitypin. I would date this piece to 1935. Furthermore, I believe it is a \"local\" fraternity of some sort. This pin is in untouched, uncleaned, as-found condition with a nice patina. It measures about3/4 of an inchby1/2 inch at its widest points. Although unmarked, the pin tests in the 10K range and weighs 2.5 grams. The enamel is in fine condition as is the rest of the pin. The obverse features a shield superimposed upon a sword. The shield is surrounded by 14 seed pearls and 4 green topaz stones, one of which is missing. The shield features the letters \"Sigma Phi Sigma\" highlighted by black enamel. The reverse features a hinge, pin, androller catch that are perfectly functional. The reverse of the shield is engraved with the date \"35.\" I don\'t know too much about this fraternity; thus, I can\'t add more. This would make an interesting addition to any collection of vintage fraternity and sorority badges. ! Please see my other listings for items which may interest you. Good luck!
