Offered is a nice Swedish or Prussian M1748 infantry hanger. Originally made for the Prussian Army, a large number of these swords were captured by the Swedesduring the Pomeranian War (1757-1762). The captured swords were pressed into service in the Swedish Army as infantry hangers, andin the Swedish Navy ascutlasses. I acquired this sword from Sweden, so most likelythis was a captured sword. The sword measures 29.5 inches (73,75 cm) overall. The blade is 23.5 inches (58.75 cm) long, with a narrow 17 inch (42.5 cm) fuller. The hilt is solid, with some wear evident on the brass, and a crown armory mark on the quillion.
