This is a very nice vintage Bates & Bacon mechanical pencil in beautiful gold-filled or rolled gold (not marked, but Bates & Bacon only made pencils in those modes). It has a gold-filled ring and barrel with some wear near the cone. Mechanism is very tight and it will need some tweaking to get it working. Scarce brand. Measures 3 1/4\"
