Up for sale is a great color engraving from the series \"Vues remarquables des Montagnes de la Suisse dessinées et coloriées d\'après Nature\"
This is the piece \"Chapelle De Guillaume Tell\" engraved by Descourtis and after a painting by Rosenberg. These were made between the years 1776 and 1785. A very well known and collectible series of plates this is a great piece from that series. Gorgeous color, crisp images. The piece is in nice shape and it measures approximately 12 x 13 inches. The piece is on a mat and protected by plastic but it is not framed.
Condition wise this is in nice shape although if I had to guess I would say the edges have been clipped. There is light browning and some creasingparticularlyaround the edges. The top boarder is taped with tape to the mat and I have not attempted to remove it. It does not impact the image and should not cause problems when framing. The mat is fairly old (I would guess from the 60s or 70\'s based on the wear to it) and I would guess one would want to get a new mat for framing as there is wear. However it provides the piece with a degree of protection and will be shipped in the mat.
