You are offerding on a No. 2 Stereo-Kodak box camera includingan original and rare carrying case.

The No. 2 Stereo-Kodak was the first stereo cameramanufactured by Eastman Kodak and marketed in the U.S. from 1901 through1905. It was also the only stereobox camera manufactured by Eastman Kodak. It utilized size 101 film.

The No. 2 Stereo-Kodak is highly sought after by collectors, especially in such good condition as this one.

An original carrying case is probably extremely difficult tofind, regardless of condition.

***** CAMERA – please note the following: *****

The camera is in very good cosmetic and mechanical conditionas can be seen in the photos.

Serial number stamped on the bottom of the camera: 2004 - this can be seen in the fourth photo, at the center along the bottom edge of the camera.

All mechanisms function as they should: snapshot shutterbutton, timed exposure shutter button, lever for three aperture stops, spoolwinder, moveable blind to cover one lens for taking single exposures, etc.

The spirit level does not currently contain alcohol. However, it can be removed from the camera via three screws and the reservoirretainer ring can be unscrewed.Possibly, the reservoir was designed to be removed and refilled.

The silver on the viewfinder mirror is crazed and some of itis delaminated/missing, which can be expected with a camera that is at least 109years old.

Inside the camera, there is a small wood chip-out by thetake-up spool hinged bracket. This is merely cosmetic and does not affect thefunctionality of the camera. This can be seen in the sixth photo, lower right hand corner.

Camera measures 4 3/4” high, 8 3/16” wide, and 6” deep

***** CARRYING CASE – please note the following: *****

The carrying case is in fair condition.

Stamped inside the lid: “No. 2 STEREO KODAK CARRYING CASE. Made by EASTMAN KODAKCO., Rochester, N.Y., U.S.A.”

Written in fountain pen inside the lid, most likely theoriginal owner: “K. K. Lammadee Bartlett N.D.” (Bartlett is a township is 70 miles west of Grand Forks,North Dakota)

“Freeberg” is also written in pencil inside the lid

The case is made of thick leather (sole leather per original Kodak advertisements). The leather is dried out, which can beexpected with an item this age.

Much of the original cotton stitching that originallyjoined the panels has unraveled and is missing. This could probably be easily restoredby hand sewing new cotton thread in the original stitch holes.

The shoulder strap is broken and was most likely originallymuch longer.

The latch on the clasp is missing. What remains is identical to the clasps that were used formany years on Kodak box camera cases so it may be possible to replace it withthe latch from another, more common Kodak case.

Refer to photos.

NOTE: the last photo from a period Kodak catalog was takenfrom the Internet and is provided for information and reference only and IS NOTincluded in the sale listing.

Note regarding shipping fee: the camera will be carefullypacked in a large box with ample padding and shipped via USPS Priority Mailincluding online tracking, signature confirmation and insurance.
