I\'ve been a student, collector, conservator, and dealer in Early American Clocks made in North Attleboro Massachusetts for over 40 years. In 1981 I published an article on the subject that was the first comprehensive study on the subject. The clock that I am offering for your consideration is a \"text book\" example of a C. 1840 Attleboro banjo clock by Horace Tifft. While clocks from this area are not rare, they are extremely hard to find in original condition including the delicate and fragile reverse scroll wooden side arms (which are always broken/missing/poorly replaced etc..). I am the owner of this clock and it is from my private collection. I have one more year of law school to finance for my younger son David, and one final year of Grad school to support for John who is ABD at Pitt and in the final stages of completing his Ph.D. thesis so I have decided to part with a number of items from my collection. This clock also has the original turned wooden \"acorn\" finial which is usually missing and/or replaced. Finally in addition to the untouched original signed dial, this clock retains its original cast iron weight bearing the makers initials \"HT.\" Please read the condition statement above. You are welcome to stop by and inspect/pick up the clock. In person pick ups are possible with a cash and carry deal or prepayment in advance. Overall dimensions of the clock are 33 1/4 X 10 1/4 X 3 3/4\" with an 8\" dial and 6 1/2 \" time track. The works have been serviced and the clock runs fine, but sorry no guarantees after shipping. A winding crank comes with the clock. The case retains its original finish and it has normal wear/tear for an Antique that is over 150 years old. Minor chips, dings, scratches to be expected. There are no extra holes behind the dial. The nails/screws that hold the side arms on have some wear areas. S/H/I is FREE for USA via USPS Priority Air 2 day service. We will wrap/pack the all the component pieces and the weight will be in its own box. Have a look at our other items for sale on as well as with seller adams-brown-co. You are welcome to stop by and pick up the clock in person. Please call if you have any questions: Steve Petrucelli Adams Brown Company, Cranbury NJ. If you would like to learn more about our Company, just type \"Adams Brown Company Cranbury NJ\" into your search engine. My cell phone is 973 723 7947 and you are welcome to call or SMS to talk about the clock. We specialize in Early American Clocks. Thanks for looking!
