I am moving from North America to the Caribbean Islands and I am unable to take all of my beautiful antiques collections with me and therefore I am saleing this absolutely GORGEOUS Vintage Reuge St. Croix, Music Box.
This Vintage Reuge St. Croix, Music Box is an interesting vintage music box that was manufactured in Switzerland..
The exterior of the Music Box is made of brass but has a stunning and luxurious front with 14 beautiful and very sparkling Rhinestones. You will notice the 9 Rhinestones on the winding stem, Gorgeous.. Also the release pin that pulls up to start the music has a very large Rhinestone, I guess so you know which one to pull. There are two small Rhinestones, one at each end, that are attached to inner screws of the music box. They should not be removed unless you are a music box technician or expert. This design and craftsmanship is absolutely the best. The back and sides of music have no signs or damage or wear and are totally smooth. The Music Box casing is in a beautiful condition.
On the inside of the Music Box there is a 18 tooth comb that sounds out the melodies as the pins on the cylinder rotates. On the cylinder there is the number \"2003\" hallmark and \"03\" on the comb. To Date I have been unable to identify the song through listening or through the Reuge Music List. If there is someone who might know what song it could be please send me an email so that I might add to this description of this absolutely stunning Music Box. When turning the winding key of the music box the music plays exceptionally well, as it should for such a high standard Reuge Music Box.
This Vintage Reuge St. Croix, Music Box measures approximately 33mm wide, 38mm high (Not including Chain), 12mm deep and weighs 53.7g or 1.894oz..Please review all photos before offerding. It appears on the photos of the front of the Music box to be visible scratches, but this is due to significant magnification, from the naked eye there is virtually no visible scratches. I leave it to you to determine the condition of the item based on the pictures I have provided. The pictures provided are of the exact item you would receive.

Reuge is the most famous maker of exquisite Swiss Musical Boxes, Singing Bird Boxes, Musical Pocket Watches, and related products The history of the company dates back to 1865, when Charles Reuge established his first musical pocket-watch shop in Sainte-Croix (Switzerland). In 1886, his son Albert Reuge opened a music box workshop in Sainte-Croix. He rapidly converted the family\'s workshop into a small factory producing music pieces. At the forefront of the mechanical music industry, the Reuge musical movement were included in the most unlikely objects such as powder compacts and cigarette lighters. From 1930, under leadership of Guido Reuge, the company built a new factory in Sainte-Croix and expanded, partly by acquiring other companies like singing bird makers Bontems (Paris), Eschle (Germany), and disc music maker Thorens (Switzerland).

Today, Reuge is the only true master of mechanical music.
