This is a giant Civil War imported Navy overcoat button. The front has a droop wing eagle perched on a fouled anchor surrounded by a ring of 5-point stars. The reverse has a , c.1860, depressed JOSH STARKEY . LONDON . 23 CONDUIT St backmark. The shank is straight. The front has great gold and detail and it measures 24.5 mm\'s in diameter.
