Norah Wellings of England produced dolls in her own factory from 1926--1959; earlier she designed dolls for Chad Valley Dolls 1919--1926. Her early versions had felted headswith glass eyes, which were rare. She produced so many dolls that some collectors have not seen them all. They are unmarked but her style is evident.

Pair of Dutch Dolls, a boy and a girl in the national costumes of Holland.
These are very early Norah Wellings dolls.
They both have felted heads with a molded face. The features such as lips, blush, eyelashes, and eyebrows are painted on. They also have the characteristic red dots in the nostrils. The girl has a blonde mohair wig that is braided into 2 braids and tied with pink ribbon. The boy has the characteristic ears.11 to 12 inches high.The girl is dressed in a white felt Dutch hat, a blue ruffle around her neck, a blue felt vest, that has bled at some time onto her body. She has a pink/rose velvet skirt with a off-white apron edged in lace. Her feet, arms, and body are made of light brown/flesh tone velvet.
The boy is dressed in a light brown cap. His dress is a long sleeved shirt with white pearl buttons for trim. He has blue pants with a pink felt pocket. His outfit appears dirty, however, some of it could be the aging of the velvet. The pocket has some holes and damage. The feet hands have the same light brown/flesh tone velvet. The flesh tone velvet matches the faces.
They are stuffed dolls.
The stitching is loose attaching the girl\'s feet to the body.
There is age on the faces .
I realize it is rare to find a pair together.
I am putting their age in the 1920\'s which makes them antique or close to it.
Perfect addition for a doll collector.
