Authentic Northwest Coast native Art at it\'s best!This is a hand carved wooden Kwakiulth EAGLE with WHALE and RAVENwall panel / sculpture - it comes with wall hanger so it\'s ready to be hung up on your wall BUT it\'s also very thick and does stand on it\'s own - either way it looks fantasticMeasurements: 12\" tall, 5.25\" wide, he used a 1.5\" thick piece of wood (solid cedar!)Carved to perfection by Alfred Robertson, He stained this piece really dark - then polished it to accentuate the natural grain of the wood. Deep and clean cuts. The artist signed this piece on the back. Alfred Robertson, Kwakwaka’wakw First Nations, was born 1950 in Kingcome Inlet, British Columbia, Canada. Alfred learned to carve from his father, William Robertson, and has carved with his brother, Sampson Robertson. Alfred carves in yellow and red cedar wood. He lives now in Nanaimo and teaches basic carving skills to elementary school children. Alfred is a very well known and very well liked Northwest Coast Native artists who is preserving the carving traditions of his people.
