RARE FIND!!! OLD piece of authentic First Nations Art carving
This is a hand carved wooden Kwakiulth (Kwakwaka\'wakw) First Nations THUNDERBIRD wall panelMeasurements: 12\" tall, 7\" wide, cedar woodEstimated Age: 1970\'sCarved in the traditional style by the late Artist STAN MATILPI, The piece is stained and polished, very old design and traditional way of carving. Signed at the back.

Henry Stanley Matilpi was a Kwakiutl First Nations Carver, born in 1939 in Alert Bay, a small town near Vancouver Island. Hetrainedunder the guidance of his brother, world wide known master carver Oscar Matilpi, Son of Ned MATILPI and GraceHUNT. Stan passed away in 2005

Condition: very good, showing minor signs of use/aging, tiny scratches - nice darkened wood
