This wonderful, antique pair of \"Grape and Cable" marigold glass tumblers was made by the Northwood Glass Company about 1910.Each tumbler is signed on the interior center of the base with the Northwood "Underlined N in a circle" trademark.

Very BriefBackground on Northwood & Dugan. ThomasDugan and his cousin, HarryC. Northwood, started out in the 1880s as employees at the Hobbs-Brockunier Glass firm inWheeling,West Virginia. Eventually, Harry would form the NorthwoodGlass Companyof Wheeling, West Virginia and Thomas would form the Dugan GlassCompanyof Indiana, Pennsylvania. Both companies were kingpins of thecarnivaland opalescent glass market in the early 1900\'s. Trading, swapping, or \"borrowing\" one another\'s glass moulds has beenspeculated. Both Northwood and Dugan-Diamond Glass shut down in the mid-1920s.

Condition. This pair of tumblers is in excellent condition with no chips cracks, chiggers, or repairs.

The iridescence on each is very good and very colorful; darker on one and more pastel on the other.

There are, of course, the usual minor straw marks (\"shearing tool marks\") and internal air bubbles from manufacturing commonly associated with the making of old EAPG, carnival, and opalescent glass.

Each and every piece of old carnival and opalescent glass is hand finished which means they are all unique. No two pieces of old carnival and opalescent glass are identical.

... wouldlookgreat alongside any Northwood, Dugan, Jefferson, Millersburg, Fenton, Westmoreland,Imperial, or otherantique glass from the makers of fine opalescent, carnival glass, and EAPG.Paypal payment must bereceived within 3 days of saleor store close.
