NOTIFICATION OF SOLDIER\'S DEATH / MISSING MARCH 1918 2/6 WEST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT DescriptionThis is an original letter dated March 25, 1918 from the No.2 Infantry Record Office notifying the conclusion that since the named soldier has been missing since 3.5.17 the conclusion is that he is dead. Gives sympathy from the king and Queen and mentions that by His Majesty\'s command the writer is forwarding the enclosed message of sympathy from the king and Queen. PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO SEPARATE MESSAGE FROM THE KING AND QUEEN. THIS COULD MEAN THAT THE WRITER WHEN TALKING ABOUT FORWARDING THE ENCLOSED MESSAGE OF SYMPATHY IS REFERRING TO DOING IT IN THE LETTER AND NOT IN A SEPARATE MESSAGE.Fold marks, creased throughout, rubbed, age marked. Nicked, tears to edges.
