Welcome to Woodsman Pipes! I handcraft Outdoorsman, Fantasy, Frontier and Modern style pipes, all from various hardwood branch wood... \"These pipes are a look back in time when pipes didn\'t have brand names and many folks made their own or purchased them from local craftsmen, peddlers in the town market or the trading post\"... The various woods include, hickory, wild plum, cherry and a variety of other hardwoods. My stems are also made from the same varieties of wood. See testimonials below

This series of pipes are designated with the letter \'O\' before the number and are designed with Early Americana in mind. Most are rustic and durable pipes while others in the series are a bit more refined. Both styles would be suitable for camping, fishing, your next hunting trip, the golf course or perhaps a back yard get together. Both are perfect for the person who enjoys the outdoors. No one wants to ruin their good pipes by stepping or sitting on them and that is easy to do when your attention is elsewhere. I\'ve kept the cost of these O pipe to a minimum. How do I do that? . \'O\' pipes are sanded to between 600 and 800 grit - still very fine - while my premium (more expensive) pipes are sanded to 2000 grit - extra fine. The sanding process is very time consuming. The stems are made with ruggedness in mind, most (not all) being thick and short. All the stems are polished with pure rock hard carnauba wax. Some of the bowls are preserved with olive oil (outside surfaces), while others are completely polished. Some are smaller pocket sized, others are full sized. I provide exact dimensions for all my pipes - see below.
In short, Outdoorsman Series pipes are less expensive than my other pipes (Frontiersman, Modern and \'X\' (Wizards or Fantastical), thus more \'expendable\' while your out ruffing it. I use an O pipe myself for the simple reason that they are a pleasure to smoke. This Pipe:
The O111 (O for Outdoorsman Series, #111 in the series) is a full sized Outdoorsman Series pipe, handmade from nicely aged hickory branch wood. This beautiful tall contoured bowl has a darker color wood than others. The bowl has a medium chamber in volume though it is deep (exact dimensions below) and is matched with a long straight hickory stem (polished like glass with carnauba wax). This is a strong and well made pipe. You can take it with you fishing in the morning and then later out to the green. Elegant yet still retaining it\'s \'Early American\' design, the O111 will be at home anywhere.
This pipe is super lightweight and very comfortable to hold. My need to have inexpensive pipes listed directly benefits you the customer, as this particular pipe is under priced by about $10.I use an O pipes myself because they smoke and look great, are rugged and are very comfortable in my hand. The Stem -
Made from hickory, it detaches from the bowl for easy care. The stem has a rock hard coat of carnauba wax. Dimensions:
Total pipe length: 6 5/16\" (162mm), Stem length: 5 1/4\" (135mm), Bowl dimensions... Inside diameter; 11/16\" (18mm), bowl depth; 1 3/16\" (30mm) , bowl outside width: 1\" (26mm), bowl outside height; 2 3/8\" (61mm), Total weight: 1.0 oz (28g)

Contact me with any questions you might have, I\'ll be more than happy to answer them and will even send you more photos if you like.

Note: about the carnauba wax
All wax will eventually fade from touching, moisture and heat. This includes carnauba wax. When the surface starts to get dull, a nice buffing should get the sheen back for you. Carnauba wax needs heat from friction to activate it. A high speed cloth or felt buffer will do the trick. Simple hand buffing will not do the job.

About the Woodsman
Pipes have been in my life from the beginning. My Dad has smoked a pipe since serving in the US Army Air Corps in North Africa, Sicily and Italy during WWII. Dad is in his 90\'s and still smoking his pipe. I don\'t recall seeing a photo of my Dad that didn\'t include a pipe either in his mouth or his hand. To this day, the smell or aroma of good pipe Tobacco reminds me of him. I truly enjoy the times we have sitting together on his back porch smoking and reminiscing. Handcrafting my pipes from dry and aged branch wood is no easy task. Unlike a nice neat block of wood that can be purchased, the material I use is as natural as can be. I cut small saplings that grow in the understory of our woods. The larger trees are not used and will continue to drop their seeds faster than I can harvest them. These pipes are a look back in time when pipes didn\'t have brand names and many folks made their own or purchased them from local craftsmen, peddlers in town markets or trading posts. My pipe making niche is definitely not the \'conventional\' pipe. The designs of my pipes are my own and in many cases are determined by the piece of wood (the branch) that I have. I have a great interest in the Medieval, Fantasy and Early American style of pipes and attempt to present that to you with my creations. No matter what they look like, they are all meant to be smoked, enjoyed, touched and admired!
.
I\'ll stand behind my craft work and will work with my clients to make sure they are happy. Together with my care instructions (included with each purchase), I list my personal email address and encourage my clients to contact me with any thoughts, suggestions or if need be any problems that may occur, communication is the key. Before purchase I encourage you to look carefully at the photos I provide and especially at the dimensions that I provide for each and every pipe. When you receive your pipe I encourage you to give it a once over, if you don\'t like it, I want you to return it for a full refund (buyer must pay for return shipping). I want you to be satisfied and would like you to purchase from me again and again and again!
Thank you,Steve

pipe was here when I got home. When I opened it up...WOW! So much better than I thought it would be. Followed your directions and smoked my first bowl and have to tell you this is now my favorite pipe! Draws great, and very cool smoke. I was almost afraid to light up because it looks more like a piece of art than a usable pipe, but I\'m glad I did because it was a very enjoyable. You have a hit here and will I own more than one of these great pipes. Oh, the bag was a pleasant bonus. Will keep in touch. THANK YOU!\"

T from Michigan talking about his new Outdoorsman Series PipeDear stejan1212,
Just letting you know, today was a nice warmish day so i went out and gave your pipe a try and everything about it so far is my favorite! It draws and smokes beautifully. Thank you so much for your quality pipe
M from NebraskaDear stejan1212,
hey Steve ~ yes they have been well broken in and i smoke them almost every day. my briars are jealous now
they smoke so well and the wooden stems offer a much better feel than the vulcanite or acrylic ones do. and no matter how much moisture in the Tobacco, there is no gurgle at all. bravo!
P from Athens, GreeceDear stejan1212,
I was enjoying an early morning smoke from the wizard pipe, which I previously purchased from you , at Drill this past weekend, watching the storm begin before formation. I just had to have another as this one smokes so well. I have purchased two blocks of briar and hope to one day craft my own. I have little to no wood working skills, and can only hope for one to turn out half as awesome as your Craftsmanship.thank you again. Waiting anxiously for the arrival of my pipe (another Wizard)
K from S. DakotaDear stejan1212
I smoked and it was amazing ... so much style, felt like a hobbit , lol
but why do i need to wet the stem ? I didn\'t understand that? ANSWER: this makes the wood on wood connection with the bowl very tight)
Thank you a lot.
M from Israel
