A fine antique french JTL violin labelled Barrel circa 1900 for restoration.

Beautiful antique french violin made in the workshops of Jérôme Thibouville-Lamy circa 1900 proposed for restoration. The violin belongs to the Barrel model, which was rather in their upper range. The instrument has been beautifully made, with a top made of two parts of spruce of very regular and narrow grain lines, and a back made of two pieces of nicely flamed maple, the curl horizontal. The ribs, neck and head are of the same wood. The violins shows black chamfer on the head, which is nicely carved. The varnish is of a delicate orange-brown color, and is entirely original.

The body is proposed for restoration, and shows only a crack at the lower left part of the top. Once properly restored and set-up, this violin will be a fantastic JTL instrument, certainly sounding very well !

On the inside back can be found the original JTL label, \"BARREL d\'après A.Stradivarius\". The violin is guaranteed 100% authentic and original.

LOB : 359 mm.

Upper bouts : 167 mm.

Middle bouts : 112 mm.

Lower bouts : 206 mm.

The instrument comes with a new case. Insured shipping to EU $50 and US $75.
