Presenting an exceptionally fine vintage Helmet mask originating
from the Bamileke region of Cameroon, Africa.

This striking piece is literally a work of art and would make
a stunning feature in any modern contemporary home!

This superb piece has been carved from one solid piece of timber. The mask
features open slit eyes and large carved teeth surrounding the smiling open slit mouth.
A wide nose, bulging cheeks and simple \"c\" shaped ears complete the facial
features. A crown of five carved faces and their torsos surrounds the top of
the mask, each individual face carved with fine facial features.

This superb example is presented in good antique condition, with no major
chips, losses or repairs. There are two hairline cracks to the timber, one on the left
traveling from the lower back to the mouth, and another on the right traveling from
the mouth to the eye. This piece remains stable and presents wonderfully. The
timber has developed a fabulous mellow patina that only time can bring.

A hooks has been attached to the reverse side for
hanging the piece, a later addition by the previous owner.

This impressive piece measures approx 340mms in height and 170mms in width.

This exquisite piece would make a fine addition to any African
tribal art or mask collection and a striking feature in any home.
