GREAT ESTATE FIND TREASURE!A beautiful piece of history a Vintage 1860\'s Civil War era to late 1880\'s Ladies Black Velvet Hat w/lace sequins, netting, black ribbon and what looks like hair. The velvet is very worn from age and from being used. Looks like someone stuffed the flowers with old tissue to plump them up, I am leaving it the same way I found it.
Was stored in an old trunk for years in an old mining mountain town in Colorado.
This is a nice museum display piece or hat for the theater, Civil War re-enactor, Hollywood prop or a collector of civil war era late 1800\'s relics. Also a great Steampunk hat for the purist.
A lot of these hats didn\'t survive the years due to the elements or were simply thrown out.
