This sale highlightsunique example of a vintage SWISS watchthat brightly reflects all canons of classical Swiss watch school. This watchwas made by well known “Omega Factory thewatches of which always differed bystyle, accuracy and fidelity to the best traditions of watch affair.
This elegant timepiecefeatures a new fantastic-beautiful metaldial. The color combination (black with silver) adds beauty to thisfantastic-beautiful watch. The central part of the dial has a verybeautiful engraving. The former dialhas been strongly spoilt; therefore it has been professionally changed to newone. The new dial features a 60minute outer track border, silver-colored Arabic numerals, large hands, and anindex register for the seconds. The dial is stamped ‘OMEGA’ with trademark Omegasymbol above this.
This astonishing model oftimepiece has a four-piece, doublehinged case made especially forqualitative antique watch to protect the mechanism from dust and debris andto provide an extra layer of protection from shock or moisture. The existenceof an inner dust cover lid is a good sign of a quality watch. The inside outerand inner lid of the case has reference number #4.556.650. The inside of outer lid has the trademark Omega symbol. The windingcrown is in very good shape and operates properly.
This mechanical watch has originalmovement. The movement is branded andnumbered (#6.087.741). This number on the case places the date ofproduction of this piece at ca. 1923. Thesigned numbered original movement isin an excellent status which was very well saved, considering age of thiswatch.

HISTORY: The History of aSuccessful Company Omega was founded by Louis Brandt at La Chaux – de – Fonds, Switzerlandin 1848 as an assembly workshop. In 1879, after his death, his two sons LouisPaul and César started the in-house manufacturing so they started having totalproduction control. One year later, Omega moved into a small factory thatbecame a huge one when 12 months later they bought the entire building. In1903, they both died leaving the company in 24 years old, Paul Emile Brandt’shands. Because of the crisis that the Second World War left, he had to workreally hard in order to face the economic difficulties. He merged Omega withTissot calling the new company SSIH. The SSIH group continued to grow andmultiply under his leadership and, by the seventies, it had become Switzerland’snumber one producer of finished watches and number three in the world.
