This is a one of a kind 17\" tall lady doll sculpted in a polymer clay (Cernit) by artist Melissa Wyatt in the 1990\'s. Melissa is no longer making dolls. Her dolls sold for $1,595.00 at doll shows at that time. This lady doll is gorgeous!
Cernit has a translucent quality that looks like glowing skin. I think in some respects, Cernit dolls look like vintage wax dolls. Her lips are very full. She has legs and shoes that are sculpted and painted. She has blue glass eyes under heavy lids. I am amazed at the hands and finger detail on this doll. Melissa\'s talent at sculpting graceful fingers is unrivaled. The nail beds are realistic.
This lady is dressed in a black jacquard gown. She appears to be going to a masquerade ball. Her upswept hair is red mohair.
Her body is stuffed cloth and arms are wired for limited posing.
She looks like she stepped out of an oil painting. Melissa\'s dolls are ethereal.
The doll is in excellent condition. Her stand is included.
