LIVINGSTON ROBERTS 1941-2004 Livingston (Castro) RobertsBorn on January 18, 1941, in Elkton, Florida, Roberts began painting at age fifteen, inspired by his friend Alfred Hair. One of the first five Highwaymen, Roberts was considered a colorful character who never truly painted his way out of poverty.
This original by Roberts is a Rare bright sunshine scene with gulls on the Indian River. As the sun gives off its hue and shades the palm and grasses in this beautiful landscape that reveals the natural awe inspired scene we so take for granted in Florida. Roberts painted with emotion and soul and brings to us the capture of our natural surroundings. A true artist.
The frame is custom made, and the canvas is mounted to the back in the frame. The Highway created their pictures from their heart. Not fully realized in their time, we now have unearthed their creative talents. opmI have owned this painting for over 20 years, time for me to let them go.
