ORIGINAL LOUIS VUITTON IRON TRIM DAMIER STEAMER TRUNK CANVAS 1888 EXTREMELY RARE SIZE\"Great condition overall considering age, trunk canvas, leather or brass has not been cleaned or restored, all in original condition.”This authentic Louis Vuitton Steamer Trunk, circa 1880\'s, features Damier canvas in the brown and tan pattern, brass tacks, and iron metal trim and locks. Exterior condition is good with evident wear from travel, although the overall piece maintains a very nice appearance. Interior condition is good. It features the early striped lining-no tray. Original owner Exterior and interior conditions are in good condition overall, show sign of wear and age, original Louis Vuitton Label on inside. No restoration made to the trunk, sold as is.Serial number 40332 dates it to 1888-the \"L. Vuitton Marque De Fabrique Deposee” mark is on several of the squares.I sent all photos to a Resolution Specialist at Louis Vuitton San Francisco so they can document the serial number. The American Express Co. label has it being delivered to: HE Thorne Grand Central 42nd St. NYC.
