Another Estate Sale Find: This M 1879 Reichs Pistol holster is in awesome condition. BUT Joe Maraski (aka Bubba) lightly carved an outline of his name then filled it in with a black marker on the flap (see PIC 6 ) The makers mark is present under the flap but very difficult to read (see PIC 7 ) Marked \' C. LESCHEN \' which produced holsters for the German military back in the day. Also underneath the flap there are letters that appear to be written in lead pencil and I believe were put there by the German soldier a long time ago and not by Bubba. (see PIC 9 ) This holster is an extreme high quality item. Has that superior quality look to it. The threading on it is awesome and still complete. The strap buckle components attract a magnet. The German Army famously replaced the Reichs Pistol with the Luger P 08 in 1908, and the rest as they say his history.
CONDITION: Bubba attacked this thing. It is is what it is. The threading is all intact. The finish is good especially the back side.
