ORIGINAL NAMED CIVIL WAR FRAMED DISCHARGE PAPERS-SURGEON DISABILITY DISCHARGE

Offered forSaleis thisHistoric Framed Document for the Disability Discharge of James McCormick, born in Ireland and served in the 37th Regiment of the Massachusetts Volunteers. The document is datedAugust 31st, 1865 when he received a Disability Discharge from a Surgeon at Douglas Hospital, Washington DC. His service began on July 28th, 1862 for a period of three years. James was 30 years of age at the time of his discharge. There are two stamps at the top of the discharge papers noting he was paid in full for his service / Full Term Bounty Paid on Sept 1, 1865. The papers are in as found condition and I have made no attempt to remove them from the frame for further investigation. Don\'t let this superb piece of Civil War History get away.

Size:-Frame 13 1/4\" High11 1/4\" Wide

Condition: -Goodto Very Good Condition -There are norepairs to the discharge papers. There is evidence that the papers were once folded (creases), some light staining is evident and there is natural discoloration of the paper from age. There is a small hole in the paper on the lower right corner, visible in the pictures. The frame shows wear. The combination of the frame and discharge papers display Beautifully.
