An all original World War II leather holster for the model 1911 Colt .45 cal. pistol, used by the United States military. This is the M7 holster, used in WWII, Korean War and the Vietnam War. This particular example is a late WWII production M7 dated 1945. The back is imprinted \'USMC BOYT 45.\' Unlike some other holsters we have seen, this example has not been altered or restained. It is in completely original condition. The straps are perfectly intact and completely functional. The retaining leather loop and button work fine. The bottom leather loop is intact but its button has corroded and no longer snaps shut. The last photo is a closeup of this button. The Marine Corps has often had to reuse old gear longer than other service branches, so this holster has no doubt seen some hard use in harsh Environments. The leather shows some obvious wear, but for an 70 year old wartime item, it is in quite good and usable condition.
