This WWI or WWII era green felt campaign hat is in very good condition with no smoke or musty odors and no damage; and it has just fairly minor age/use wear (light spotting/soiling mostly-it\'s also a bit misshapen 0n the top of the crown & brim.) The brown leather headband inside the size 7 1/8 hat is intact and it\'s still soft. The band is marked: 49 45. Hand written on the band is the number 82. Also hand written inside the hat are the initials E.E.S. (under the headband), and the letter \"X\" inside the crown (see photo #5.) The brown leather head strap is also intact and it\'s still soft & pliable. The rivets holding the strap are tarnished and the brass buckle has some light rust discoloration (see last two photos.) The color on the hat cord has darkened over time, so I\'m not sure if it\'s red for Artillery or Maroon for the Medical Corp. The hat has just a tiny piece of a label under the headband, and there\'s not enough there to tell who the maker of the hat is (many of these military hats were made by Stetson, so it could have been made by them).
