Outlaw Jesse James Remington Model 1875 45cal Revolver Franklin Mint Replica For Sale
Up for sale is this commemorative replica revolver, The OUTLAW JESSE JAMES 1875 Remington 45 revolver. As you can see from the photos, this item replicates the color case hardened steel frame, black walnut grips and blued steel barrel and cylinder of the gun owned by Jesse James. The actual and authentic gun he owned is currently on display in the Gene Autry Western Heritage Museum. This gun has been in storage for about 30 years and as a result is in excellent condition as you can see from the photos. A lot of these guns are sold without describing the operation because they are broken. Apparently they were "dry fired" a lot by over zealous collectors during the 30 years since they were sold and this can damage the gun. This replica is in great condition both in finish and it's operation. The hammer has safety, half cock and full cock positions and the cylinder indexes to the next chamber when the gun is cocked. This replica of the Jesse James Remington revolver has simulated color case hardened frame and real black walnut grips...Although this may look like a real gun and the action functions like the original, this item is classified as a "non-gun". It cannot fire any type of ammunition nor can it be modified to do so. This is a replica of an antique firearm, in this case a Remington 45 patented in the mid 1800's (i.e., a firearm developed prior to 1898). According to federal law (US Code Title 15, Section 5001), replicas of antique firearms developed prior to 1898 do not require an orange barrel plug or markings. However, to satisfy and to remove any doubt, this replica gun has been fitted with an orange plug as shown in a photo.WHAT IS DIFFERENT ABOUT THIS REPLICA IS THAT IT HAS A DOUBLE STRIKE ON TOP FRAME ..most likely an error gun...making it more valuable..this is listed as used but it has never been played with or displayed, always in storage..this is a franklin mint mfg. revolver but i do not see any f/m mint mark on it or does it read jesse james on it ..FIXED S & H $12.00..PLEASE EMAIL ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE ....
If you collect items of US Western history.......do not let this item pass you by without careful consideration
