This vellum leaf is from the calendar of a book of hours, probably made in France ca. 1485.
Batarde hand, on nice thick vellum.There is one small original hole in the vellum. These holes were often from damage during the vellum-making process, or from injury/damage to the animal\'s hide. There is also a small repair in the margin. This is likely a period repair, when it was common to sew up the vellum to prevent any further damage.
