For sale is a old-time wooden banjo tailpiece, found on a 5-string Buckbee-style instrument from the 1880s or ‘90s. Looks like ebony to me; it cost someone all of 10 cents at some point, judging from the penciled price on the underside (see photo). I very much doubt it is original, since it was strung to the tailpiece lug with picture hanging wire(!) Old, though.
