Back measures ~ 348 mm Please carefully examine photos as they are the biggest part of the description. Wear to the varnish, cracks on top plate that is made out of 4 pieces of spruce. Back, seems maple or pear wood. Neck is shimmed. Interesting old instrument.I do not alter my photos. It could be some issues that I am not aware of please ask for photos if any need to see specific area.
Very nice old violin possibly Italian. Once repaired it will be a nice instrument however it needs work and, maybe, more extensive work as you anticipate.Always seek advice from professional luthier when purchasing antique violin. No provenance.
