OLD FULL SIZE VIOLIN Label shows Alexander Galiani 1700
This a 1700 instrument bearing a label of
\"Alexander Galiani
fecit Neapoli 1700\"
The exact age of this violin is unknown. The instrument is in a fair condition with no visible open cracks or separation. However, there are some scratches and scuffs due to its age. There is a crack at the bottom of the front side of the violin however it seems to have repaired (refer to the below images). The top of the back, below the button shows the inscription of the name \"Stainer\". The label shows Alexander Galiani.
I have no idea about the history of the violin, but one possibility is that it is a copy of Jacob Stainer (c. 1617 – 1683) made by Italian violin maker Alexander Galiani in the 1700.
The overall condition appears stable. Refer to pictures below for details.
